Eat local and eat well and you feel better, save money and reduce CO2 emissions, packaging, and "food miles". Long distance transport and the use of animal products are major, and avoidable, causes of global warming, and of ill health and suffering. You don't need anything that comes from an animal, and a plant-based diet gives you more energy and variety with less expense and fat, and a much smaller carbon footprint. Look at herbivorous animals like the horse, rhinoceros and elephant.
Can you get a weekly box of seasonal vegetables direct from a local grower? Can you join a food co-operative? And why not have your own garden, even if it is just on your windowsill? Fresh tastes so much better, especially organic. And composting your food waste saves on transport and landfill.
